Retail marketing
Updated over a week ago

Retail marketing involves promoting products and services to consumers through various retail channels (where you have applicable control). This includes a mix of strategies and tactics designed to attract, engage, and convert shoppers into buyers. Retail marketing encompasses everything from in-store promotions, visual merchandising, and product placement to digital marketing efforts like social media campaigns and e-commerce optimization to drive traffic to your products. The goal is to enhance the customer shopping experience for increased sales.

Questions you could ask:

"If you were shopping in your local grocery store for [insert product] and saw this shelf setup, which product/brand would you reach for first, why?"

"In this image, how long did it take you to find [insert brand]? Do you think we could improve placement or packaging design to make it stand out more?"

"Would you buy more of a product if there was a special promo for it in-store? What would your preference be- BOGO, % off, free bundled product with purchase, etc?"

"What influenced your decision to purchase a product on an endcap (end of grocery row display)- convenience, sale, bright design, etc?"

"Are you an impulse shopper? What is your go-to impulse product (chips, candy, fruit, snacks, etc.)?"

"What pet peeves do you have about shopping in store in regards to where products are placed (too high/low on a shelf, changing location, department location, etc)?"
